Overview

Residence AI is designed to run fully offline, privately, and locally on your device. Updates are provided to improve performance, stability, security, and compatibility with new local AI models. All updates are optional, and you remain in full control of when and how the Software is updated.

How Updates Work

Residence AI includes a built-in updater that checks for new versions only when you choose to run the update check. The updater performs a simple request to our update server to see if a newer version is available. No personal data, usage information, or device details are transmitted during this process.

Manual Updates

You may download updates directly from the official Residence AI website. Manual updates allow you to install new versions without using the built-in updater. This option is ideal for users who prefer complete offline control.

Version Compatibility

Residence AI is designed to maintain compatibility with existing local AI models installed through Ollama. In rare cases, major updates may require newer versions of certain models or libraries. Any such requirements will be clearly documented in the release notes.

Release Notes

Each update includes detailed release notes outlining changes, improvements, and any important instructions. Release notes are available on the Residence AI website and within the updater interface.

Support for Older Versions

Older versions of Residence AI may continue to function indefinitely, but support may be limited as new versions are released. We recommend updating periodically to ensure optimal performance and security.
